Financial Reporting Analyst

Our client is a tech-enabled consumer products company building a global growth platform,

acquiring ecommerce brands and evolving them into household brands. We are currently recruiting for a talented Financial Reporting Analyst to join our innovative, fast-growing and passionate team based in Kalamazoo MI.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated, talented and detail-oriented individual who brings 2-3 years of public accounting experience (a CPA license would be great but not necessary). The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills and be capable of supporting various financial functions, including month-end close, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), external audits, and special projects.

Responsibilities

- Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP.

- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.

- Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports.

- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.

- Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely and accurate close processes.

- Assist in the development of financial forecasts and budgets.

- Perform variance analysis to explain differences between actual results and forecasts/budgets.

- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business decisions.

- Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary documentation and explanations.

- Ensure compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.

- Assist in the implementation of audit recommendations.

- Participate in ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required.

- Support process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Skills needed (required and preferred):

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

- CPA license preferred.

- 2-3 years of public accounting experience.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is a plus.
