Job Description

Tianjin Juilliard School is looking for a Editorial Coordinator to bring Juilliard's mission to a global audience by creating content in China and elsewhere that aligns with Tianjin Juilliard School's values. As a new cultural institution, Tianjin Juilliard School is the first performing arts institution in China to confer a U.S.-accredited Master of Music (MM) degree. Tianjin Juilliard School's content is focused primarily on music education and performance. This Tianjin-based position is responsible for creating and producing high-quality professional content for Chinese media outlets and the Tianjin Juilliard School's owned-social media accounts(including Chinese social media and overseas social media platforms). In addition, this individual needs to efficiently engage with the public through social media, to effectively support the growing admissions needs of the School, public performances on and off campus, and cooperation with the community. This position will strengthen the school's brand by assisting in the production of media content and engagement with the public on wemedia platforms. Consistent communication and collaboration with colleagues from the New York and Tianjin campuses will be critical to the success of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage content production and comment writing for the School’s social media accounts (including but not limited to Weibo, Red Book).
  • Engage with the audience on social media platforms and relay information to relevant departments as needed.
  • Gather and organize departmental needs, assist in determining copywriting direction and style, and create content as required.
  • Support the school's media activities by creating, organizing, translating, and proofreading necessary content and materials for media activities, including press releases, interview reports, and promotional materials.
  • Support the school's branding campaigns by providing content creation and editing support for editorials and advertising.
  • Assist in topic selection, planning, contribution invitation, editing, and overseeing the entire publication process.
  • Possess a certain understanding of classical music; candidates with a background in classical music are preferred.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or above; candidates with majors in English, journalism, communication, musicology, or arts management, and/or overseas graduate degrees are preferred.
  • 1-2 years of work experience or internship in media/self-media operations, classical music, arts management, etc.

Requirements

  • Excellent writing abilities in both Chinese and English, capable of cross-cultural communication and oral and written communication in an English-speaking working environment. Proficient in English translation and interpretation.
  • Ability to independently gather information and create content.
  • Experience in social media operations (including but not limited to WeChat, WeChat channel account, Red Book, Weibo) and relevant content production skills (copywriting, news writing, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Xiumi, Canva, Adobe Premiere, and other software; able to independently complete WeChat layout and experience in short video editing are preferred.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a short period under pressure, prioritize tasks, actively and efficiently complete them.
  • Positive teamwork spirit, excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication, and collaboration with media professionals, students, musicians, managers, and external partners from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Attention to detail and results-oriented mindset.
  • Knowledge and enthusiasm for classic music and performing arts.
