Your Purpose

In this role, you will report to the EVP of Strategy & Planning and will be responsible for building and leading the Research & Analytics team. You will provide leadership, innovation, and oversight for the Research & Analytics team to produce the data sets required to inform and develop insights and strategies for business and operational initiatives.

Your Role 


  • Support our Brightline Florida business with primary focus on commercial, secondary focus on operations, and tertiary and remaining focus on general G&A support. Consult with stakeholders to understand the business model, objectives, issues, and challenges that analytics can support.
  • Lead and oversee the Research & Analytics team comprised of data analysts and scientists, including company employees as well as contractors both on and off-site.
  • Develop standards and collection processes to support robust analytics and reporting data pipelines including using statistical methods, modeling, analytical methodologies, and data analysis. Utilize KPIs, business performance data, industry trends, competitor intelligence, and customer information to develop analytical tools, reports, and models across the organization to inform and support decision-making.
  • Extract data then construct data sets to analyze, inform, identify trends, and support stakeholder decision-making.
  • Recommend new data as the business evolves including identifying highly correlated data sets, incorporate new data as the business develops, and work with the data engineering visualization team on organizing and displaying key data sets the business uses.

  • Master’s degree in operations research, statistics, data science or related field or a bachelor’s degree with equivalent work experience.
  • Operations research background or related field with understanding of traditional revenue management, Markov chain customer choice modeling, supply and demand management, and pricing modeling and analytics.
  • Advanced experience with hospitality or transit forecasting using pick-up models, time series, booking curves, and machine learning.
  • Experience with optimization, simulation, clustering, regression, classification, probability distributions, non-parametric pattern analysis, seasonal adjustments, and principal component analysis.
  • Expertise in extracting, transforming, and wrangling data from relational databases with an ability to create data-driven models, visualizations, and applications using tools such as Python or R.
  • Proficient with cloud computing data intelligence platforms such as Databricks as well as reporting business intelligence tools such as Power BI.
  • Proficient with supervised and unsupervised machine learning algorithms and deep learning.
  • Experience with software designed for revenue management, inventory control, and network management and scheduling.
  • Database marketing with experience in customer segmentation, multi-channel marketing, customer loyalty programs and incentives, test and control marketing, and churn management.
  • Expertise in geospatial analytics with Huff model experience.
  • Analytics experience understanding customer behavior, trends, response analytics, and customer choice.
  • Digital marketing strategy, online brand-building, and social media marketing including lookalike marketing and holdout testing.
  • Proficient with digital analytics concepts, analysis, and reporting on website/app KPIs, preferably within the Adobe Analytics environment.
  • Financial modeling and operations analytics to identify increases in efficiencies and reductions in costs.
  • Project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience working closely with and presenting to stakeholders across departments with varying objectives being able to deliver actionable strategies from data insights.
