Director of Operations

Purpose

This position is responsible to identify, train and cultivate a positive working environment with great two-way communication, on-site and within the various departments within the organization, with a focused effort in sales and participation building, profit, people development and meeting/exceeding client expectations, all while ensuring all NSLP compliance policies are being followed to ensure reimbursement claims are justified and city/local health code procedures and processes are followed. Support, Coach and Supervision of the Regional Managers while focusing on equal distribution of efforts and care towards all areas (Sales, Profits, People, Compliance, Satisfaction).

Responsibilities

• Complete other duties or administrative request requests as assigned by the Leaders of SLA.
• Conduct scheduled 1-1 calls with Director of Operations reviewing the Big 5 (Sales, Profit, People, Client Satisfaction, Compliance)
• Review and analyze financial results for assigned Regions, develop action plan to address units that are missing budget (sales, costs, GP)
• Ensure all local, state, and federal regulations are understood and adhered to
• Hold teams accountable to all standards, regulations and policies following SLA’s performance improvement standards
• Conduct scheduled meetings with various department heads within our organization- Purchasing, Compliance, HR, Talent Acquisition, Compliance, Culinary, Accounting, Marketing, Payroll, Training, Partnership/Sales Team
• Communicate and ensure company standards are met at all units within the market
• Maintain positive relationship with clients in market to ensure client satisfaction and retention
• Evolve programs to maximize sales and participation at sites within markets
• Conduct on-site visits to ensure the on-site operations are operating to company standards adhering to all policies and SOP (Minimum 5 visits to each region annually)
• Oversee the transition of new accounts within the market from Sales to RM
• Entire HR cycle for RMs in market (hiring, onboarding, training, developing, retaining)
• Create a positive working culture and build a team of Regional Managers working together to maximize individual strengths to improve the overall strength of the team
• Work with other SDO’s and COO to continue to develop SOPs and the processes to improve execution and operational excellence
• Assist in Developing Financial budgets for regions, schools in my area of responsibility, Food, Labor, and Profit.
• Conduct regular trainings with RMs and AMs to continue to strengthen their knowledge and skills
• Assist Partnerships with prospective clients, (meetings, site visits, presentation, etc.)
• Review Profit and Cost trends; communicate success and opportunities; create action plans for markets with opportunities
• Create a recap, weekly, detailing the past week on the big 5 per region (Sales, Profit, People, Compliance, Client)
• Assist in ensuring individual facilities are properly equipped to execute up to company standard, Serving Equipment, Storage Equipment, Smallwares, handwashing, prep and 3 comp sinks
• Quarterly and Year End Reviews for Regional Managers
• Ensure all SLA team members in the market are treated with care and equality
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and team player
• Strong interpersonal (verbal and written) communication skills
• Ability to communicate with various levels of management
• Organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills.
• Ability to pass an extensive nationwide criminal background check and fingerprint analysis.
• Previous Director experience preferred K-12 environment
