The Director of Labor and Employee Relations will oversee and manage all aspects of employee and labor relations, including collective bargaining, contract administration, grievance resolution, and compliance with labor laws and regulations.
This role will work remotely; however, the candidate must live on the West Coast (Washington or Oregon). Travel will be required, approximately 25%.
Position Specific Responsibilities
Manages team of employee/labor relations specialists and serves as escalation point for investigations/grievances
Develops and implements labor and employee relations strategies to achieve company goals and objectives
Manages and coordinates collective bargaining negotiations with union representatives
Administers and interprets collective bargaining agreements
Investigates and resolves employee grievances and complaints
Develops and implements employee relations strategies to promote a positive and inclusive work environment
Investigates and resolves employee complaints and concerns, including those related to discrimination, harassment, and retaliation
Ensures compliance with labor laws and regulations, including FLSA, NLRA, and OSHA
Provides guidance and support to HR COEs, operations leadership and field HRBPs on labor relations matters
Develops and conducts training programs for employees and management on labor relations and conflict resolution topics
Collaborates with HR and other departments to ensure consistency and alignment of employee and labor relations policies and practices
Analyzes and reports on labor relations metrics and trends
Collaborates with internal and external legal teams on employment litigation
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources, or related field: 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree.
Master's degree in Labor Relations, Human Resources, or related field preferred.
Minimum 5 years of leadership in labor relations or contract negotiations, preferably in the healthcare industry
Experience in a healthcare, hospice or home health setting preferred.
Compensation range: $115,000 - $161,000.
