The Scope
The Director Tax will be responsible for the tax accounting and international tax compliance related to Company’s international operations, including executing tax processes, and supporting tax planning and strategy initiatives. The Director Tax will partner closely with the broader tax and finance teams to develop, implement, and maintain best in class processes to meet the Company’s financial reporting and compliance requirements.
Hybrid role with offices in NYC, West Des Moines, IA, or El Segundo, CA
The Responsibilities
Manage international tax matters such as OECD Pillar 2, Subpart F, BEAT, GILTI, FDII, and foreign tax credit planning.
Review of the international components of the consolidated tax provision to ensure that they are complete, accurate, and in accordance with ASC 740.
Manage the development, maintenance, and execution of tax accounting policies and internal controls for the international tax components.
Manage the US and local international tax compliance relationships with our third-party providers.
Assist with international audit issues raised by the US and foreign tax authorities.
Coordinate the tax function’s relationships with internal and external auditors, as they relate to international components.
Actively partner across the organization to stay current with business developments and identify, assess, and communicate related tax implications and potential opportunities.
Effectively recruit, manage, develop, and optimize a high performing tax team.
Qualifications And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
10+ years of public and/or industry experience with strong exposure to financial reporting.
Certified Public Accountant is preferred.
Experience in life insurance, annuities, or financial services is preferred.
Experience with OneSource Tax Provision is preferred.
