Controller - Manufacturing - Greater Cleveland

Our Client, an international manufacturer, is looking for a Controller to join their team in the Greater Cleveland area.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that fiscal reports for plant management are both timely and relevant
• Aid in interpreting financial data and implementing operating budgets and policies
• Uphold cost and inventory control systems in accordance with corporate guidelines
• Provide monthly reports to corporate finance, covering profitability, inventory cost, and variance analysis
• Offer financial insights to guide operational decision-making processes
• Act as a collaborative partner to the Production Unit manager
• Oversee the operations of a manufacturing facility with approximately 80 employees
• Directly report to the Production Unit Manager
• Interpret financial and accounting policies to establish operational practices
• Conduct data analysis to generate financial reports on plant profitability, inventory, and manufacturing cost variances
• Conduct monthly analyses of plant performance and develop strategies for improvement
• Maintain control systems to monitor sales, cost of goods sold, manufacturing cost, etc.
• Review exceptions, general ledger entries, and reconcile production costs
• Analyze and rectify inventory in transit, discrepancies in purchase prices, and manufacturing expenses
• Assist in preparing capital appropriation requests and the annual plant financial budget
• Generate reports on sales, product orders, plant results, and inventory
• Occasional travel may be necessary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and at-least 5 years of related experience
• Manufacturing industry experience
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• GAAP knowledge, CPA preferred
• Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills
