Fives Group is an international player in Process Engineering, Consultation and Process System Supply to the Steel Industry, has an immediate opening for a Financial Controller at our offices in Wadsworth, Ohio.
Position Summary
The Financial Controller will play a critical role in our company's financial management, strategic planning, and financial operations. The Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities of the business unit, in conjunction with the executive management team. Under the hierarchical supervision of the President & CEO of the SBU and the functional supervision of all financial aspects for Fives accounting. Working in close collaboration with the Fives Group finance, legal and IT departments.

Specific Responsibilities Include but are not limited to the following:
General Accounting and Financial Reporting
Performing and supervising the monthly balancing of the books and account reviews; preparing monthly financial statements;
Communication as necessary to answer questions and inform senior management concerning financial performance and business issues;
Fives financial reporting - ensuring the timely completion and accuracy of Fives BFC monthly/quarterly financial reporting requirements for actual, budget and forecast;
Supervision of contract accounting, payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable;
Sets up procedures relating, among others, to contract accounting & revenue recognition, accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense reports and timekeeping, and makes sure that they are correctly followed;
Sets up procedures related to intercompany transactions, accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense reports and timekeeping, and makes sure that they are correctly followed and all balances are reconciled
Contract accounting and reporting
Sets up the internal audit tools to follow contracts (project budgets and estimation of costs to complete) and overhead costs;
Controls invoicing, considering contractual conditions, and taking care of correct taxation and tax retentions done by customer;
Controls receipt of payments from customers, including direct contact with customers for follow-up;
Controls payments to suppliers, considering contractual conditions and taking care of correct tax retentions;
Identifies potential exchange risks;
Follows all projects under warranty and their corresponding reserves
Works in close collaboration with the project management team to understand the state of each project and to guide the company in risk management
Participate to monthly Project Review meetings
Budgeting and Forecasting
In coordination with the CEO and senior management team, is responsible to prepare quarterly orders, P&L and cash budgets and forecasts.
Cash management
Ensures daily cash management and fills in the monthly cash reports within the requested deadlines
Controls and issues bank guarantees.
Taxes
Works with the Fives US Tax Manager providing all the necessary documents to ensure that taxes are filed;
Ensures timely payment and filing of payroll, sales and other entity administered taxes (CAT) and returns.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA preferred.
10+ years of experience in a financial managerial position with a proven record of success.
Extensive experience with ERP systems, specifically SAP Saphir.
Strong leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
A solid understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles.
Working knowledge of all statutory legislation and regulations.
Proficient user of finance software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience in a global or multinational company, preferably in the steel or manufacturing industry.
