Conflicts Attorney

We’ve been exclusively engaged by the Berkeley Research Group (BRG), a leading, global consulting firm, to recruit an accomplished Conflicts Attorney to join their Office of General Counsel. Reporting to the VP, Deputy General Counsel, this attorney will manage the new business intake and conflicts team to identify potential legal conflicts and relationship management issues and resolve legal conflicts related to new matters and new hires.

They have in-depth experience across a wide range of industries and markets, from construction and energy to technology and healthcare. BRG is headquartered in CA with offices around the world and 1,550 employees. This position can be based in DC or Chicago (with other OGC members), or in another city where they have a U.S. office (e.g., Denver, Houston, NY, Tampa, etc.).

Key Responsibilities: Assist with management and coordination of new matter intake and conflict review processes (e.g., identifying information gaps, legal conflict concerns, and other legal risks relevant to new matter consideration); advise on matter and conflict review in connection with the onboarding of new BRG professionals; implement and administer best practices for data maintenance and system management in Intapp; administer, maintain, and update BRG’s ethical wall processes and procedures; and review, negotiate, and/or execute confidentiality protocols and undertakings.

Qualified candidates should have 3+ years of conflict experience using InTapp Conflicts gained in a large law firm, management consulting firm, or similar professional services firm with a global, complex structure. You should possess a willingness to collaborate as part of a highly regarded client service delivery team and an interest in bringing new ideas forward and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the client intake function.
