Position Summary

The role of the Business Analyst (BA) is to assist in the creation and documentation of project definition and goals. The PMO BA will work with stakeholders to ensure the project scope is designed based on the required outcome. The PMO BA is responsible for owning and contributing to projects throughout all phases of the project lifecycle e.g., requirements specification, risk assessment, user acceptance testing and sign off and rollout. This position must provide an analytical viewpoint to achieve results that will support the Firm. This role is not an “order taker.” The PMO BA must cooperatively challenge the status-quo, elicit needs, facilitate workshops to gather information and build relationships and consensus.

Duties and Accountabilities1

  • Understand business needs, collect, and document data and business requirements, use cases, system workflows, process mapping and diagram building, gathered through our Project Management and Relationship Management functions
  • Critically evaluate complex processes (such as the internal Solution Risk Assessment process (SRA)) to develop logical solutions and develop actionable insights with stakeholders
  • Build documentation to describe statements of the goals, objectives, or needs of a particular stakeholder or group of stakeholders
  • Validate requirements and identify design options, collaborate with technical teams and vendors to understand relevant technologies and integration requirements; translate user requirement into system requirements, ensuring alignment with stakeholders and IT resources
  • Generate innovative solutions to business problems and propose recommendations that align with strategic business and technology objectives
  • Support the development of test and implementation plans with our Quality Assurance function and support coordination of system enhancements and project testing; collaborate with developers/engineers, technical teams, and vendors to understand cloud technologies and requirements relevant for integration
  • Contribute to new product or system evaluations, vendor/ product selection, review projects post-implementation for compliance, effectiveness, and possible enhancements
  • Develop technical training programs and conducts user training

  • Keep team members and stakeholders up to date on operating and project initiatives
  • Understand and monitor developments, trends, patterns in the IT industry to make sure the Firm is ready and poised to take full advantage of new technologies relevant to our business
  • Be our own toughest critics and always look for new, creative and better ways to help ourselves, the practice and all our colleagues improve
Qualifications

  • Willingness to ask “why” until the answer is clear
  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related field a plus
  • 7+ years of business process or analysis experience
  • Good understanding of Waterfall, Agile project methodologies and Scrum framework
  • Ability to establish relationships with business and technology professionals
  • Interested in creatively solving challenges within given constraints
  • Business acumen and presentation skills
  • Previous experience as a business analyst is a plus
  • Good understanding of client/server and cloud architectures is a bonus
  • Awareness of new and emerging technologies and applications on client engagements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Visio, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Experience working with international teams and various cultures

Location and Reporting

  • This is a hybrid role based in our Tampa office.
  • This role reports to the Senior Manager, Portfolio Operations.
