The Manner sits nestled on a quiet tree-lined street in SoHo. Twelve floors rise above the neighborhood’s storied lofts, boutiques and galleries. Our name derives from our particular manner of hospitality. One that feels more like staying at the home of a dear friend than at a hotel — discreet, refined, generous. Our 90 rooms and suites are beautifully designed and thoughtfully appointed. The Apartment and The Rooftop (coming Spring 2025) are guest spaces - your friends are welcome, though. Think of them as your private clubhouse in the city. While our street-side seafood restaurant, The Otter, and second floor cocktail bar, Sloane’s, will be open to the public.


Purpose of the Role


The Brand + Marketing Director is responsible for ensuring the successful launch and consistent marketing of The Manner hotel and F&B spaces. Working in partnership with our senior hotel management team and corporate marketing team in New York you will deliver and coordinate a diverse range of marketing initiatives and services for The Manner. You will be key to driving the local, regional, and international marketing plan and develop key neighborhood and New York based partnerships. On a day-to-day basis you will support the Hotel, Restaurant and Bars with promotional campaigns and be the point of contact for all design and creative collateral – digital content, flyers, signage, newsletters - and oversee the creation of inhouse collateral with support from the corporate team. You will oversee property-dedicated campaigns and content including regular photo shoots and editorials across the property and manage the local PR agency to ensure they are delivering regular media coverage for the hotel and its F&B outlets. You will be responsible for inviting talent to the hotel, regularly hosting and have a good understanding of the influencer and VIP world. You will manage the digital presence of The Manner and its social channels where you’ll lead the strategy for the channel with corporate guidance and be on hand to remotely amplify these efforts on a paid and organic basis.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in marketing, branding, or communications roles.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, including social media, PR and content marketing.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interface confidently with high-profile guests, influencers, and media representatives.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the luxury market and experience in effectively representing luxury brands.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the annual marketing budget, track spend and ensure ROI on all marketing and culture activities.
  • Agree and develop marketing strategies in conjunction with SVP of Brand Marketing + Culture to effectively target and engage with communities across all our market segments.
  • Act as our brand ambassador and ensure all external communications, collateral and marketing materials are reflective of our brand values and identity.
  • Work closely with the on-property Sales and Revenue Directors to achieve budget and deliver consistent brand and communications messages across all traditional and digital mediums including OTAs.
  • Take ownership and manage both the content, copy and imagery of the hotel website, ensuring it remains up to date with all current information, new imagery and photography, seasonal promotions and relevant cultural moments. Be the point person to approve any branded moment requests across the hotel.
  • Oversee all marketing and communication collaterals and internal SOPs for internal requests and support teams with assets where needed. Maintain The Manner’s brand image and identity, including the release and external use of logos, images and copy for press and online publications.
  • Lead and manage the PR agency relationship to achieve consistent brand and communications tone of voice across all traditional and digital mediums.
  • Drive the social media and content strategy for The Manner – commission photographers and source influencers with the help of the PR agency to promote The Manner brand.
  • Work closely with the F&B Director and tailor a marketing programme around two distinctive F&B spaces and understand the challenges with the restaurant.
  • Take an active interest in New York hotel, restaurant and bar scene through regularly eating out, to monitor local competitors and develop innovative marketing initiatives, services and products to raise awareness and drive bookings for The Manner.
  • Work closely with the Director of Revenue + Sales to implement effective marketing strategies to support the business during low occupancy periods.
  • Prepare and present monthly results and ROI on all areas of marketing and any cultural programming to ownership and corporate office.
