Core Responsibilities

In close collaboration with the team colleagues and other Legal, Compliance and Risk Management (LCR) colleagues this role will drive, support, and implement LEGO® brand protection online in many ways including, but not limited to



  • Policing of third parties’ unauthorized use of LEGO® Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and the removal of infringing content globally, specifically across online marketplaces, Social Media platforms, mobile app stores and websites, as well as any new platforms that emerge,
  • Handling IPR enforcement cases related also to AI, Metaverse, Web3 and any emerging future platforms and technologies,
  • Driving and supporting countermeasures against online fraud impacting the consumers and the brand
  • Developing online enforcement strategies in collaboration with colleagues and relevant collaborators across all regions where the company is located
  • Building internal and/or external collaborator relationships to optimize work effectiveness and enforcement impact, including building working relationships with local business colleagues and external services providers, including but not limited to external IP counsels, customs authorities, and law enforcement,
  • Research into and analyzing trends of online IPR infringements, resulting from increased eCommerce sales,
  • Providing training on new trends and the type of actual enforcements being done by the company,
  • Collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data for collaborator reporting and building dynamic reports,
  • Supporting the continued development of collaboration, knowledge sharing and process optimization within the team as well as crafting communication updates on progress,
  • Documenting legal processes and work output in relevant legal knowledge management tools

This Associate Corporate Counsel/Lead Professional level role sits within the LCR department in Digital, eCommerce and Marketplaces (DEM) legal team driving and implementing our global online IPR enforcement as well as providing global support to direct-to-consumer activities and our digital organization.

The DEM team is global with team members located in Denmark, China, the US, and Singapore, consisting of a variety of legal positions.

The main focus of the team is to



  • Drive, support and implement global online brand protection including, but not limited to, marketplaces, websites, mobile app stores and social media and any new platforms that may emerge,
  • Act as main point of contact in relevant matters,
  • Support regional and global Sales & Marketing goals through brand protection and IPR enforcement efforts,
  • Support as main point of contact with external partners on tasks that are already, or going to be, outsourced,
  • Participate in support within other regions, including ensuring knowledge sharing and alignment on a global level in IPR matters.



Do you have what it takes?



  • Law school/legal university degree or equivalent experience specializing in IP and/or brand protection.
  • 3-5 years of global experience from inhouse or private practice preferred, within the IPR legal area, particularly in the digital space.
  • Curious approach in understanding how the online consumer platforms and the internet work, and discovering new trends of IPR infringements online.
  • Proven track record in IPR enforcement matters and collaborator management.
  • MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Project management & data analytical skills.
  • Focus on pro activeness, ability to effectively spot issues on a wide range of topics and build results/impact to the business.
  • Skill in critical thinking, active listening and creative problem-solving.



Nice to have



  • Anaqua, MIRO, Excel, Word, Power BI, Microsoft Project knowledge.
  • Some travel must be encouraged, likely not to exceed 15-30 days per year.



This position will initially be based at 501 Boylston St, Back Bay, before moving to a new office location at 1001 Boylston St by the mid-2025. Our hiring teams will discuss this with you during the interview stages.

The salary for this position has a range of $87k - $130k based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalization of the employment offer. (Only for US, salaried roles)
