We are is seeking enthusiastic applicants for the role of Assistant Adjunct Professor starting in August 2024. This position entails teaching an asynchronous online graduate course in Educational Research, catering to a Master's Degree cohort of students specializing in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction.
The course serves as an introduction to research methods pertinent to educational research, focusing on addressing challenges encountered in applied settings like schools. It covers a spectrum of research designs, both quantitative and qualitative, emphasizing approaches to minimize bias, establish validity, collect data, and draw conclusions. The primary objective is to equip students with fundamental concepts and tools to effectively locate, critically evaluate, and comprehensively understand empirical research studies.
Responsibilities
Delivering instruction and facilitating student learning
Providing timely grading of assignments along with constructive feedback to students
The course is conducted online and can be taught remotely within the state of Iowa. Remote work must adhere to the university's remote work policy and agreement.
Education Requirements
Ph.D. or Ed.D. degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Psychology, Education, Assessment, School Psychology, Learning Sciences, or a related field is required.
Required Qualifications
Prior experience teaching in an asynchronous online environment is necessary.
Desirable Qualifications
Experience in teaching graduate students or within a K-12 setting is beneficial.
Possession of Quality Matters training and certification is preferred.
