Sistema Afterschool Singing Teacher Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic individual passionate about teaching singing for our after-school music program. Sistema Utah is partnered with American Preparatory Academy to offer music classes after school at Title I schools. Patterned after the El Sistema movement that originated in Venezuela, it is our hope to empower our students for social change. Teacher positions will be filled by candidates with high experience and expertise in their specific instrument area.
Duties/Responsibilities
Singing teachers will teach three separate choirs a day after school, Monday-Friday.
Paid training begins Monday, August 12th, and the job goes through the end of May.
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday 3:15-7:00 pm; Wednesday and Thursday 2:15-6:00 pm.
Education/Experience
A college music degree and Suzuki Method teacher training is a plus but not required.
High school or equivalent (Required)
Pay: $17-$25/hr DOE
