Administrative Accountant

Job Description

We are a full service, local accounting firm specializing in assisting individuals and small to medium sized businesses. We work closely with our clients and pride ourselves on exceptional customer service. This position will be entry level with opportunities to advance.

Job Duties:

• Answer and direct phone calls
• Assist clients who come into the office
• Maintain filing system
• Prepare payroll for multiple clients
• Enter financial data into software
• Perform journal entries and bank reconciliations
• Prepare worker’s compensation and general liability insurance audits
• Report data to various governmental agencies including the Department of Labor Statistics, Department of Homeland Security (E-Verify), South Carolina Department of Revenue, South Carolina Department of Social Services, etc.
• Assemble tax returns
• Various other administrative duties as needed
  
  

Pay will depend on experience.

The right candidate will have at least a high school diploma. Some higher education and/or 2 years’ experience in an administrative position or higher would be ideal but is not required. A college degree is preferred. Accounting experience is not required. This can be trained. However, we do require the right candidate to be punctual, reliable and of outstanding moral character.

Our hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm (May-January) or 7pm (February-April)

We offer a paid lunch to obtain a full 40 hour week if employee eats within the office and is available to assist clients during that hour. However, an hour lunch outside the office daily is permitted but unpaid. Dress is business casual and jeans are permitted on Friday.
