Summary Of Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist position include data entry; routing of invoices; obtaining vendor documentation; release of checks; accurate and efficient processing and maintenance of various documents relating to vendor invoices, cash disbursements, adjustments, postings, and mailings; tracking of transactions for multiple properties within the organization; and timely responding to inquiries regarding the status of invoices/payments. The Accounts Payable Specialist also performs other duties as assigned.
Summary Of Requirements
Requirements of the Accounts Payable Specialist position include an associate degree in accounting or related field; or comparable experience. Proficient data entry and computer skills to include MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) experience; high attentiveness to detail and efficiencies; the successful ability to plan ahead and meet strict deadlines each day in spite of interruptions; and an effective ability to adapt to changing priorities, multiple tasks, and project needs within a fast-paced environment are required. This position also requires effective communication (verbal and written), basic math, organizational and client service skills. The Accounts Payable Specialist must also be able to effectively recognize, make appropriate determinations, and escalate urgent issues as needed. Prior accounts payable and accounting software experience is preferred. Prior experience within the construction, real estate development or property management industries is a plus.
