LHH is working with a Dallas-based mutli-family real estate investment platform that is adding a new Accounting Manager to their team. This company is looking for a manager that can take responsibility for the financial statements, compliance, and technical accounting. The ideal candidate will be someone that started their career in public accounting and worked with real estate clients or someone that has moved into the real estate, construction, or development industries. You must have experience with financial reporting and writing technical memos.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and consolidate financial statements in accordance with GAAP for multiple projects.
  • Generate detailed financial reports and analysis for management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of financial results to meet internal and external deadlines.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all regulatory and contractual obligations related to project funding from private equity.
  • Coordinate audits and reviews with external auditors and ensure all audit findings are addressed promptly.
  • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Develop and oversee budgeting and forecasting processes for projects.
  • Analyze variances between actual financial results and budgeted figures, providing explanations and recommendations.
  • Manage cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
  • Optimize cash management procedures to maximize liquidity and minimize financial risk.
  • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making on acquisitions, investments, and operational strategies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to enhance financial performance and achieve strategic goals.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure workload balance among team members.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA certification preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in accounting and financial management, preferably in real estate investment or private equity environment.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing audits and working with external auditors.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel; experience with Yardi or similar real estate accounting software is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
