ALL ABOUT WOMEN'S GOLF! We are looking for companies, designers, creators, manufacturers and distributors in the golf industry who want to promote their products to thousands of women who play golf. According to the National Golf Foundation, from 2020 to 2022, more than 800,000 women in America took up the sport, bringing the total to 6.4 million female golfers. While the number of female golfers rose about 15 percent, the male golf pool increased by just 2 percent during that same time frame. In 2019-2020, the number of women golfers was 22% of the industry players, and in 2021, that number rose to 25% and today has reached almost 33%. Between 2014 and 2021, female golfers' spending on golf goods surged by more than 66%. Experts say the numbers are considerably higher now with no signs of slowing. Young girls are learning to play at increasing rates, while women in their 50s and 60s are taking up the game for the first time. My goal is to continue growing the game for women with the LPGA Amateur Golf Association—Myrtle Beach. My greater goal is to connect with creators, designers, manufacturers and distributors of equipment, apparel, and accessories to promote your products to thousands of women golfers who live and play in the Myrtle Beach area and the millions of women who visit. Myrtle Beach is the golf capital of the world, with 17.6 million visitors in 2023. As per the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, visitors spent $10.1 billion on retail trade, and of that, $59.6 million was spent playing golf. I am working on a project that will bring women from all over the U.S. together and captivate them with all the good things in golf. Thanks to the United Shore Professional Baseball League for their invaluable assistance in helping us finalize the DVS X-Ray MoCap Kit. During the first two weeks of the USPBL season, we set up the DVS X-Ray MoCap Kit on the game mound to capture the deliveries of 40 pitchers, providing them with their respective DVS Scores. The videos captured have been instrumental in helping us to fine-tune our synch and scoring logic that accounts for the vast combinations of movements in the pitching delivery. In preparation for the release of the DVS X-Ray MoCap Kit, we've ensured it captures pitchers of all levels, from Little League to professionals, with fastballs ranging from 50 mph to 95 mph. This process has led to significant breakthroughs at DVS in our mission to bring AFFORDABLE, markerless motion capture technology to those who previously couldn't afford or access advanced biomechanics tools. Stay tuned for the pre-release of the DVS MoCap Kit, which is fully integrated with our DVS X-Ray Software. This combination offers automated biomechanical insights that objectively assess injury risks and sustain higher velocity. Feeling inspired after our first Excelerator (young professional leadership development program) Brunch 'N Learn event, with SFIA - Sports & Fitness Industry Association's own Tom Cove, President and CEO. Tom shared a treasure trove of career and industry insights, including: i) Recognize skill gaps and navigate them with integrity and confidence ii) Pursue authentic, win-win partnerships from start to finish iii) Embrace diversity in collaboration - it's essential, not just a nice-to-have iv) Invest in all athletes (especially those who don't fit the profile norm) to boost participation and fitness activity in all sports v) Listen to both spoken and unspoken brand feedback - silence can be so telling Tom emphasized the need for more women in youth sports leadership (coaches and officials) and the need to focus on the insights behind the numbers, not just data. His advice on learning from failure and the ability to pivot quickly to a new direction struck a chord. Finally, his recommendations for words to live by for the Excelerators were authenticity, confidence, reading the room, and choosing your battles wisely.
