Added a multitude of changes to make the site easily accessible for customers with disabilities.

For example:

Every image, video file, audio file, plug-in, etc. has an alt tag
Complex graphics are accompanied by detailed text descriptions
The alt descriptions describe the purpose of the objects
If an image is also used as a link, make sure the alt tag describes the graphic and the link destination
Decorative graphics with no other function have empty alt descriptions… Show more

Data tables have the column and row headers appropriately identified (using the <th> tag)
Tables used strictly for layout purposes do NOT have header rows or columns
Table cells are associated with the appropriate headers (e.g. with the id, headers, scope and/or axis HTML attributes)
Make sure the page does not contain repeatedly flashing images
Check to make sure the page does not contain a strobe effect
A link is provided to a disability-accessible page where the plug-in can be downloaded
All Java applets, scripts and plug-ins (including Acrobat PDF files and PowerPoint files, etc.) and the content within them are accessible to assistive technologies, or else an alternative means of accessing equivalent content is provided
When form controls are text input fields use the LABEL element
When text is not available use the title attribute
Include any special instructions within field labels
Make sure that form fields are in a logical tab order
Include a ‘Skip Navigation' button to help those using text readers

Added the first of it's kind Augmented Reality application in the US for the traditional furniture industry utilizing Cimagine technology.

Cimagine, the augmented reality application, lets mobile device users virtually decorate by using the camera lens of their mobile devices to place 3D versions of products in their rooms and see them from all angles before they buy. Jerome’s soft launched the program with “See it in your home” tabs on certain product pages in late May. Since then, it has seen a 65% conversion to e-commerce sales for consumers using the app vs. those who do not.

And the increased time they’re spending on the website is through the roof — nearly quadrupling to 15 minutes for the app users vs. four minutes for other Web visitor.

The Challenge was enabling customers to visualize what a special order sofa will actually look like in the fabrics they like.

The custom upholstery program is a key part of the business for us at Jerome's. Despite the popularity the custom upholstery program wasn’t reaching the full potential as we were lacking the ability to visualize and show all the custom options, including fabric and colors options of body and pillow fabrics.

The lack of a proper visualization service also resulted in frequent product returns as customers would base their purchase decision on small fabric samples, but without the ability to see how it would actually appear on the sofa. Then at delivery too often the fabric would appear different, which then led to customers deciding to return the product. Bad for the business and a poor shopping experience for the customer.

The solution was deploying Cylindo's state of the art visualization tools on our website.

After development and deployment, our customers can now see in photo realistic quality what special order sofa's will look like with literally thousands of options. And also be able to spin those 360 degrees in a responsive web page that looks great on phone, tablets and desktops.

The effect was 25% increase in online conversions. 274% increased user engagement and most of all, an excellent customer experience and happy buying customers.

Currently only used for advertising tracking, but we could add other proximity features if we so desire in the future. All tracking is 100% anonymous tokenized data for privacy.

Added a semi custom chat system to the website so that we could chat with customers on the website. The solution is also fully responsive so it works great on tablets, phones and of course computers. Working with operations and sales management, we constructed a solid team for the initiative. Results have been excellent and we are expanding staffing and the program itself.

Designed and implemented text ahead delivery system utilizing Glympse system. This allows our customers to get a text message when the delivery truck is on the way to their house from the prior delivery or from the warehouse if you are they are first stop.

Customers can follow the delivery on a real time map on their smart phones or computers up to the point of the delivery arriving at their location.

Completed website redesign framework into fully responsive website using Restive .js technique.

Design and implementation with in house team and EY Studios for design, DTL for code base. Project management and oversight. The website was framed for responsive to be launched a few months after desktop testing.

Designed scope and implemented Google virtual tours for all 11 Jerome's locations plus distribution center. These virtual tours help connect the online and offline worlds with an immersive virtual in store experience. It has been especially helpful when moving into new markets where customers may not be as familiar with our brands and products.

Together with my business partner and EY Studios, a completely responsive website was designed and launched successfully in about 3 months. Conversion rates on mobile went up 50% as a result.

Managed installation of IP telephony system utilizing Five Nine software. Updated our call center to latest technology increasing the efficiency and adding to customer satisfaction.

Designed and installed EDI software systems that integrated with Microsoft Dynamics in order to achieve efficiency inherent with an EDI system. The system utilized not only traditional EDI, but also ad-hoc in house automation systems in conjunction with key suppliers.

Microsoft Dynamics (formerly Great Plains) accounting system installation. Including SQL server installation and all other hardware and software installations. FRX reporting setup and implementation was also part of this project.

Design and implementation of Yahoo's ecommerce solution with a SQL and Access driven database system.

Managed the transition from Broadvision ecommerce platform and other in house web platforms to a central system utilizing Microsoft's Ecommerce Server and SQL server integrated in companies Microsoft Great Plains / Dynamics accounting systems.

Successfully installed Broadvision Ecommerce platform, including software, hardware and management of the project and all team members involved.

Acquired multi-million dollar investment from venture capital firms, lead by Hummer Winblad venture partners.
