Are you a Dualie? If you are, then you could be key to strengthening long-term participation in the game. In short, the National Golf Foundation define a dualie is a golfer who plays both on-course and off-course golf. Not content with a regular 18, they use a simulator, visit the range, or head down to a Top Golf or a Big Shots in between rounds. I’ve seen several reports recently about the consistent growth of off-course golf. And I’ve heard a fair bit of concern from the industry on whether it will weaken participation in the traditional game. I’ve always thought otherwise – so it’s great to see this report suggesting I was right 😊 When we see golfers taking lessons, or hitting the range we know that the number of rounds they play goes up – we’ve measured it. We know that when we can help engage golfers in activities around the club other than playing golf, the number of rounds they play goes up – we’ve measured it. So it has always followed in my head that when golfers hit balls for leisure, the number of rounds they play will go up. In addition, this report shows that they are more committed to traditional golf, their ability level is higher, they spend more money on equipment, and - the number of rounds they play goes up! I think there’s also a great argument that off course golf is a fantastic entry point for many people too. Why the Powerjog is the best self-propelled treadmill in the market and why it is one of the best tools for athletes , first responders , and runners in general. The main reason why someone will use the Powerjog is because the muscle activation you get in the legs is phenomenal . A user can be hours on a flat electric treadmill , but the drive motor helps quite a bit so the muscle activation is not that great. Don't get me wrong , the treadmill is the most popular piece of equipment in any gym but the Powerjog is just fantastic and will give you incredible muscle activation immediately. Often I hear from customers " oh I use to run for 1 hour on the treadmill and now after 15 minutes on the Powerjog I am trashed". There are several self-powered treadmills in the market today but they are all very different. Personally I have tried 15 different models and visited several factories before I came up with the Powerjog in 2018. When I demoed a prototype in a large rec centre in Vancouver Island , the complain I had was , " I can run but cannot walk because the belt jerks" walking up the curve will accelerate and then running in the middle of the curve will slow it down but this jerkiness is a valid point. Often I was saying to customers, you have to try it at least 5-10 times to get use to , but people these days are very impatient , so I decided to add magnetic resistance as I saw personally that adding a bit of resistance with stabilize the treadbelt and give me a very comfortable walk , I saw that this shortened the learning curve quite a bit but also gave users the possibility of using it as a sled ( very interesting exercise for rugby players, specially those playing scrum). Some of the self-powered treadmills I tried in 2016 , well known brands at that time were impossible to use for interval training because the manufacturers puts so much weight on the front and rear rollers that to speed up you have to grab the handrails and push and then what a nightmare to slow down with all that momentum ( it is like trying to stop a spin bike ). The calculation of the weight of the rollers is extremely important and most manufacturers fail on this. Visually the treadmill looks good but you try it and is very bad , the user gets a horrible experience and the product is not used. In my opinion , a self propelled treadmill without resistance is not worth it and you HAVE to try it. Not all self-propelled treadmills are the same , not even close. He sheds light on the double-edged sword of perfectionism in sports: "I think that perfectionism can drive the athlete. But it can be a double-edged sword because when you’re trying to be perfect, you can overthink, you can doubt, and that leads to hesitation. When you’re playing, this can lead to making mistakes, creating even more pressure, and preventing risk-taking when it really matters. With that mindset, it’s really hard to have fun, and we all perform better when we’re enjoying what we’re doing. Perfectionism can be a coping mechanism to avoid dealing with uncomfortable emotions or feelings if we don’t succeed, but that takes us out of our body and into our head. When you’re too much in your mind, it’s very constrictive, blocking the energy flow in the body, which ultimately impedes the flow states we’re after. This critical voice in our head isn't who we truly are. When I was playing and found myself being overly critical, I would come back into my body, sense what I was feeling, and use affirmations to drown out that inner voice." Impact Sports is working to protect youth athletes from concussion and traumatic brain injury. Weve designed and tested tackle as well as soft shell helmets that outperform top selling helmets on the market. Our technology is patented and performs unlike any helmet on the market. With "off the shelf" materials, we were able to outperform the VICIS zero one in FE Testing. VICIS blew through tens of millions of dollars to get to that point. We did it in 3 years and spent $250,000. With that said, raising money to move forward has been tough. We'd love to hear your suggestions/referrals for anybody interested in joining us as we work to better protect athletes. *****This is one test, at 18 ft/sec. The lower the SI, or severity Index, the better. Max "passing" score is 1200 (very poor score). This would qualify us for a 5 star helmet.....and we didn't test our "game ready" materials!

If you want to grow the pie, change the fruit! Golf hasn't really changed in over 100 years, it's still a ball, a club & hole game. Single or Dual Beam Timing gates ? Single-beam gates can trigger multiple times as an athlete passes by, recording data from hands, arms, torso, legs, etc. To address this, manufacturers introduced a torso filter, assuming the torso is the widest body part. While this solution works in many cases, it’s not perfect. For instance, tall athletes might trigger the beam with their legs, and shorter athletes with their arms, leading to data scatter and slightly faster times. Dual beam use a first principals method. BOTH beams must be blocked before an event is recorded. Simple and very effective. Choosing between single and dual-beam systems affects your results, and direct comparisons between the two aren’t recommended. For accurate historical data, pick one system and stay consistent.
