“BP expects to book impairment charges of $1B-$2B for Q2, and warned of weak oil trading earnings amid "significantly lower" refining margins, sending its shares falling 3.8% in premarket trade on Tuesday. The after-tax asset impairments and one-off contract provisions include charges relating to the ongoing review of its Gelsenkirchen refinery in Germany. Lower realized refining margins are expected to have an adverse impact of $500M-$700M, driven by weaker middle distillate margins, narrower North American heavy crude oil differentials, and a higher level of turnaround activity. BP expects Q2 upstream production to be broadly flat sequentially, with production largely flat in oil production & operations and slightly lower in gas & low carbon energy. In the gas & low carbon energy segment, realizations are expected to have an adverse impact of around $100M compared to Q1, including declines in non-Henry Hub natural gas marker prices. In oil production & operations, realizations are projected to have a favorable impact of $100M-$300M compared to Q1. The British oil and gas giant will report Q2 results on July 30. BP's forecast comes just a day after Exxon Mobil warned of weaker gas prices weighing on its Q2 upstream earnings, as well as a big drop in refining margins.”

@Allgheny Petroleum products have a point that there are pros and cons and it depends upon the situation and the requirement of the Individual lubricant brand. @ILMA I am of the opinion Toll blending is better when you are exporting to a far away Country and you need flexibility in quantity and packaging. for eg exporting in bulk form isn't so practical,when you are shipping from one country to another. Exports from Middle East ,Europe and other countries. The typical example is brands being exported from Middle East to Canada,where shipment time is around 45 days plus friegt factor.The Customers need product instantly. secondly most important is that the brand exporter to have their own Consultsnt to check the Quality ,efficiency and services of the Toll blenders. In 2004, when Elon Musk started working on electric cars, 71.1% (2824.8 billion kWh) of US electricity was generated by fossil fuels, according to the U.S. Energy Information Administration. At that time, many critics doubted the viability of electric cars, citing concerns about their cleanliness and the lack of recharging infrastructure. Fast forward two decades, and we have witnessed incredible progress. Today, people are charging their cars at home with solar panels, and the role of fossil fuels in electricity generation has decreased to 60%. Let's approach hydrogen fuel with the same open-mindedness and vision. Just as electric cars have evolved and integrated into our lives, hydrogen has the potential to become a significant clean energy solution. If you like an easy laid-back job, the business of frac’ing is probably not for you.   Badass frac'rs never worked harder. Below, I have graphed % change in various parameters for the business of frac’ing on US Land since 2012.    Let’s start with the line on the bottom. There is a gradual decline in combined service companies’ revenue associated with frac, as many of them have stood by while more services - like sourcing and logistics of water, sand, chemistry, diesel and CNG fuel - are sourced through third parties. Pumpers who have captured some of that business have increased their revenue through these vital auxiliary services, but some of it has disappeared. Thank you, Richard Spears, for sharing the pressure pumpers revenue data.    While overall industry frac crew count is down (-17%) since 2012, industry engine power is up slightly (+5%). The industry is pumping a record number of stages (+33%), pumping more time (+72%), and has increased throughout of fluid volume (+293%) and proppant mass (+305%).   To achieve these incredible throughput metrics, pressure pumpers worked their ass off: they did 387% more work (HHP-hrs) - pumping for longer at higher pressures (+24%) and at higher rates (+128%).    I absolutely love the dynamics of our industry. Optionality isn’t about establishing a breadth of infinite options, but rather best positioning yourself for the right potential downstream pathways.
