I am particularly proud to have founded the Women Serve on Boards movement, a pioneering initiative dedicated to promoting the inclusion of women on corporate boards. Our journey began with launching petitions aimed at encouraging 25 Fortune 500 companies to appoint their first female board member.
Our efforts bore fruit, persuading over half of these companies to appoint not just one, but in several cases, multiple women to their boards, including women of color.

Our advocacy played a crucial role in supporting, testifying for, and rallying support behind the passage of California SB 826. This landmark legislation mandated that publicly traded companies headquartered in California have at least one woman on their board by the end of 2019. Although it was later deemed unconstitutional, the law ignited a nationwide conversation and spurred public discourse on gender diversity in corporate governance. This dialogue extended across various states, regulatory bodies such as the SEC, stock exchanges like the NYSE and NASDAQ, influential corporations including BlackRock, numerous business schools, and beyond, leading to significant policy, structural, and tactical reforms aimed at enhancing board diversity.

In our continued commitment to this cause, we published 'Get on Board: Earning Your Ticket to a Corporate Board Seat,' a comprehensive guide designed to empower professionals aspiring to embark on a corporate board career. This book is a testament to our dedication to breaking down barriers and creating more inclusive and diverse corporate boards.

Security is Essential for Blockchain Applications

While blockchains themselves are often secured by large amounts of hashpower, applications running on top of them, in the form of smart contracts, can be subject to coding errors or security vulnerabilities just like any other software. Unlike regular software though, smart contracts are often directly in charge of assets, and once they are written to a blockchain, they cannot be changed. In some cases, the smart contract code also is viewable by others accessing the blockchain. This makes secure smart contract development essential.

Written by Smart Contract Security Experts

Quantstamp is a Y Combinator-backed blockchain security company which has audited over $800 million worth of smart contracts. We are among the first to have built a decentralized automated smart contract security analyzer network deployed on the worldwide Ethereum blockchain and our team has 5 PhDs, including security and formal verification experts.

    Actionable Advice

Fundamentals of Smart Contract Security provides actionable advice on blockchain security. It goes beyond theory, giving real practical advice, including common vulnerabilities detected in the wild, and best practices for secure smart contract development.

“Smart contracts and programmable money enable a wealth of new possibilities, but their immutable and public nature means security must be given top priority. This book will teach you how.” - Eric Ly, Co-founder, LinkedIn, and CEO of Hub Token

I co-authored this book with 19 amazing women lawyers who have been part of a larger group of 50 women lawyers that created a networking group on LinkedIn. During the days of the pandemic, we've laughed together, cried together, shared in losses and successes, cheered each other on while we juggled practicing law, parenting, relationships, launching new companies, building online courses, side-hustles, podcasts, writing a book (lol!), and so much more. We self-published this book to share our stories about handling the early days of the pandemic and we hope that it will show others that you can find a community of support even in the darkest of times. Thank you LinkedIn for this platform and thank you to Amazon for making self-publishing so feasible. And thank you to all of my co-authors for dreaming up this beautiful project and bringing it to life through sheer force of will and determination.

Numerous emerging business models, including token economies, P2P, micro values, new asset creation, blockchain-based software and blockchain as a service (BaaS), and numerous others, are using blockchain technology in innovative ways that raise important ethical, legal and societal issues.

Olga V. Mack’s project focuses on emerging blockchain business models and their implications on commerce, society, and laws. As these business models develop, important questions are raised that need careful analysis with pragmatic solutions. Olga will interview CEOs, founders, and executives in 7-10 industries that will be affected by blockchain’s imminent arrival, and using real-life examples, she will share blockchain’s unique value propositions and develop a set of best practices for dealing with blockchain’s arrival in key industries.
