Shout out to Kyle LaHucik for a great summary and call out to the mega-rounds. There's some commons trends I note here: 15/50 were pre-clinical, so the money favors the data and progress (duh), and that oncology, obesity, autoimmune, and neuro continue to land $$$. Notably, there are some really BIG $$$'s going into AI. I expect this to amplify if/when data and approvals are truly attributed to the likes of Genesis Therapeutics, Iambic Therapeutics, and Xaira Therapeutics. Anyhow, there is some meaningful money flowing, and we'll need lots of it, based on the rising costs of CRO, trials, and inflation adjusted drug development.

Merck taps AI-focused biotech for new ADC pact worth $376M Biolojic Design, Ltd., a biotechnology company that uses computational biology and artificial intelligence (AI) to transform antibodies into programmable, intelligent medicines, today announced that it has entered into a multi-target drug discovery collaboration with Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany. The partnership will leverage Biolojic Design’s AI-driven discovery platform to design therapeutic antibodies for the treatment of cancer and immunological disorders. Under the terms of the agreement, Biolojic Design will receive a low double-digit million euro upfront payment and research funding from Merck. It will also be eligible for drug discovery, development, regulatory and commercial milestone payments that may total up to €346 million.
