You're facing candidate no-shows. How do you ensure a positive experience for those who do attend?
First - to the candidates/applicants. Don't no show or ghost employers. If you commit to doing an interview phone/video/in person and your interest or circumstances have changed. Send an email, text or phone call respectively saying you are not able to move forward at this time and thank them. Second - set the building blocks to a transparent - genuine - respectful candidate - employer relationship from the very first discussion, listening is critical. Messaging/confirming with a candidate the day of the interview is wise. Confirm availability - confirm time zone - confirm duration - format - confirm next steps in terms of follow up communication. And then there is as Jerry Seinfeld said during an episode, "people, they're the worst".

One of the goals is to understand the team dynamics, relationship history and past challenges and successes. Be respectful of the strengths and styles that team members have and build on that to create and share a common goal regarding the various benefits of a diverse team. Provide on-going support and education to achieve results.
