Agents out here hard core 💩-talking carriers I told them weren’t worth writing despite illustrative rate for years and acting like they are Gods for suddenly sharing this opinion. Y’all remeber this…. Insurance is a guarantee and/or a significant hedge against risk. Tommy Boy taught us many things but above all things it taught us “I could crap in a shoe box and slap guaranteed on it but all you’d have is a guaranteed piece of crap.” The company behind the contract is as important as the contract you sell. - Stick to “A” rated or better if at all possible - Stick to companies with a great and visible track record of client and agent experience - remember, most of your favorite gurus are regurgitating regurgitated regurgitations… finding it from the source tends to equate to real dollars in compression of timeline, effort, energy, and financial investment

I imagine this will have an impact in the insurance industry. On the one hand, sales reps and agents working for an agency will be able to change jobs more easily or perhaps start their own agency. It begs the question of course: They can’t take all their customers with them, right?! But on the other hand, employers will have a harder time holding on to top sales reps in an already challenging talent market. It will force employers to focus even harder on work life balance, company culture, and compensation packages.
