Know the specifics of various targets groups national, international to see who you're communicating with as a sponsor is simply a prerequisite when deciding where and how to engage and, bottom line, spending your budget and resources. While "gut feeling" is nice, knowing your objectives and develop a route to success based on insights and facts is simply the sustainable way to get long-term success in sponsorship. Monumental Sports & Entertainment (MSE), owner of the National Hockey League’s (NHL) Washington Capitals, has struck an expansive partnership with short video platform TikTok. Contract: TikTok becomes an official partner of the Capitals Deal until end of 2026/27 season includes road jersey patch sponsorship, entitlement of the Capitals 50th anniversary celebration and in-arena branding  TikTok to serve as presenting partner of Capitals road games on Monumental Sports Network  TikTok also secures ‘unique programming elements’ specific to the Capitals, the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Washington Wizards, the Women’s National Basketball Association’s (WNBA) Washington Mystics, the NBA G-League’s Capital City Go-Go, and NBA2K’s Wizards District Gaming Context: TikTok will be the Capitals’ inaugural road jersey partner. The Capitals were the first NHL team to secure a jersey patch sponsor by signing a multi-year deal with casino company Caesars Entertainment back in September 2021. TikTok has content deals with the NHL, NBA, National Football League (NFL) and Major League Baseball (MLB) but its pact with MSE comes as the platform battles to continue operating in the US. Earlier this year, the US House of Representatives backed a bill that would see TikTok banned in the country unless its parent company ByteDance relinquished its controlling stake in the business by 19th January 2025. TikTok’s agreement with MSE until 2026/27 shows that the app fully intends to remain in the States past this year, with the company aiming to win over US lawmakers and allay national security concerns stemming from TikTok’s Chinese ownership. https://lnkd.in/gXcTmvEV
