The AWRE Sports client list consists of a couple of teams still active in the Major League Baseball (MLB) Playoffs and D1 NCAA National Champions all the way down to High School Programs. How is that possible? Some have begun to ask, as this represents a significant gap in the market. In both sports and business, success often hinges on what happens behind the scenes. Off-season training, traditionally associated with athletes, has profound parallels to the business world. Whether it's an athlete preparing for the next season or a business professional seeking continuous improvement, the off-season is a critical time for growth and development. In sports, the off-season allows athletes to recover, refine skills, and improve physical conditioning without the pressure of competition. It’s during this period that athletes work on areas of weakness, strengthen their bodies, and sharpen their minds to return even better for the next season. Without this dedicated time, performance could stagnate, or worse, regress due to burnout or injury. The NFL Schedule is being released this week. A few years ago, I worked with an Agile team to match the new NFL schedule to the ticketing system to provide clubs with secondary market insights as they looked to sell direct to customers. Why is this such a big moment to track secondary? 💴 Clubs that manage the secondary market tend to better generate primary revenue 🏈 Clubs can develop a direct promotion strategy to their fans, like allowing their most seasoned fans access first to their site for direct revenue 🆘 Clubs can spot unusual broker activity to identify any breaches of ticketing agreements One interesting takeaway - high ticket interest popped up during the NFL Draft. Some of it was related to Draft tickets, but the majority included searches for tickets. Should NFL clubs have the right to start selling tickets then? #tickets #sportsmarketing

McKinsey & Company claims companies using AI in their sales processes have been able to grow revenues by as much as 5%. But there are two types of AI: traditional and generative. Both have roles in a modernized ticket sales strategy. However, the vast majority of teams, leagues, and federations still only leverage the former’s capabilities. Rights owners and event promoters across the landscape use platforms like Ticketmaster Sport, eventellect, and TicketSell, all built on traditional AI, to make better, data-informed decisions on pricing strategies. Far fewer are taking advantage of ChatGPT’s ability to analyze email correspondence for buyer, or potential buyer, intent.
