There are certain agencies I consistently hear terrible things about. There are certain agencies I consistently help brands move away from. Still -- I don't think those agencies are 'bad' agencies. They are bad for those clients though. Better for others, presumably. And, even "the best agency in the world" to some of their clients, too. I don't want to work with them. And I wouldn't recommend them. But, the point is this. Finding an agency is easy. Finding the right agency is hard. Agencies should be more selective in who they take on. Agencies should be more graceful when they lose clients. Agencies should stay in their proverbial lane. Brands should communicate their needs better. Brands should be more transparent with their agencies. Brands should invest more into their agencies. *not necessarily $$. Good agencies exist. Bad agencies exist. Great agencies exist. Good to you, may be bad to another. Great is the goal. Ya just gotta find them. ..ya may have to kiss a few frogs first, too.

Concerned your DTC email list is too small to generate any meaningful revenue? We recently made our client $5,539.60 from 48 subscribers on their short list. This proves you don’t need a massive list to succeed. Excellent deliverability is key. Don’t get me wrong, a larger list is ideal. You can acquire thousands of subscribers each week with a healthy amount of traffic to your website + optimized popups. However, you don’t need a large audience base before you actually start marketing them. In fact, that’s a terrible idea. By the time you think your list is “ready” (whatever that means) – you’ll be sending emails to an unresponsive list. Your audience will be semi-cold at best, or dead at worst. Instead, start immediately, learn the ropes, keep your list engaged & when your list isn’t even that large, it’ll start bringing in cash. The Worst Amazon Update I have heard in 2024 The introduction of the "DON'T BUY NOW" widget? This feature is designed to discourage impulsive purchases.  While the intent behind this initiative might seem commendable  Its potential implications are far-reaching. 1. Averaged Sales: The widget might lead to a decrease in sales before a deal. When combined with the sales boost during the deal The overall sales could remain relatively unchanged or even decline. 2. Lightning Deals:  For Lightning Deals, which rely on a sense of urgency and limited availability The widget could discourage purchases, leading to lower overall sales. 3. Potential for Manipulation: There's a risk that Amazon might use this widget to manipulate consumer behavior Guiding them towards products that align with their interests rather than the audience's needs. At this moment we all just need to pay attention.  An experienced specialist will always dig & take advantage of every opportunity. "PPC is too expensive and I don't get results" According to statistics provided by Google, the typical return on a PPC should be 2/1. Why do so many business owners feel like PPC has become a black hole of cash spend? 1. There's no coherent strategy for the keyword groups, and/or businesses simply used the native Google Ad tools on the platform. - Our team from the start focuses on finding keyword groups that provide businesses value and diversify the objective, intent and focus of the keywords. Think of it like a financial portfolio... would your CPA recommend you only own 1 stock? Why would you only try to run ads for one specific keyword group or intent? 2. The platform isn't optimized for successful conversions. - When someone comes to your site from a PPC campaign, how easy is it to convert? Where does this user journey begin? Too often I see PPC campaigns where the user journey starts at the home page, or on a landing page with no calls to action. There's nothing more frustrating than coming to a site and not being able to achieve the very reason you came. 3. There's no accountability to the campaign... AKA reporting. - I've talked to countless business owners or marketers who spend enormous amounts of money but don't go over any reports or have subpar tracking methods. If you don't track the performance of your campaigns, how do you expect to improve? PPC doesn't have to be a black hole for your budget. When reviewing success of a DCT, don't just look at the overall ROAS. Look at the breakdown. Only turn off the DCT if the ROAS drops below the TROAS for a solid week. Don't judge it off 3 days. Not long enough. Especially when you factor in delayed attribution

🛡️ Defense Strategy? Defending your listings is a critical part of your PPC strategy. You want to ensure that your products dominate the space and prevent competitors from piggybacking on your listing. Here’s how to do it: 1️⃣ Target Your Own ASINs: • If you have multiple SKUs, use ASIN targeting to place ads for your other products on your own listings. • This keeps competitors' ads off your product pages and encourages cross-selling between your products. 2️⃣ Use Keyword Targeting for Brand Protection: • Protect your brand keywords by running Sponsored Products and Sponsored Brands campaigns. • Ensure your branded keywords rank at the top of search results to avoid losing clicks to competitors. 3️⃣ Maintain a Baseline Defense: • Even if you’re not actively running aggressive ranking campaigns, always have a defensive strategy in place. • Think of this as an insurance policy for your listings, ensuring competitors don’t take over your real estate. Pro Tip 1: • During daily, weekly, and monthly optimization, review the ASINs and keywords you are targeting to ensure your competitor did not outbid you. Pro Tip 2: • Use Sponsored Display ads to expand your defense across Amazon’s ecosystem, including on and off Amazon placements. ✅ Good Example: • You target your own ASINs with Sponsored Product Keyword & Product targeting, Sponsored Brand Keyword targeting and Sponsored Display Product targeting ads, ensuring that your customers only see your products when browsing your listings. ❌ Bad Example: • You don’t run defense campaigns, allowing competitors to target your product pages and dilute brand loyalty. Agency red flags that continue to come up in audits.. 🚩 🚩 1) You ask them to hit a higher in platform ROAS and the first thing they do is shift 50% of your budget to retargeting, artificially inflating the ROAS (can't tell you how common this is!) 2) You tell them your business has slowed and ask for recs on further growing and they ONLY come back with upper funnel recs, instead of innovating further with offer testing, creative, landing page testing and more DR tactics (which are completely untapped) 3) They rebuild your whole ad account structure and put everything into learning phase (this only makes sense if nothing was working in the first place) The good news is all of these are fixable and are quick to catch. If you ever find yourself stuck with your growth marketing, these are some things you can check for. Or you can reach out to someone like myself/get an outside perspective.
