Foundations fail for a variety of reasons, primarily due to expansive soils contracting and expanding with moisture changes. The cure is usually not piers. The answer is normally stabilizing the soil. Cut out the shrink/swell effects and the structure doesn't move. If the structure doesn't move, damage does not occur. My job is to guide you in finding the best, most economical solution to the movement. The contractors commissioned salespeople sell piers, as many as possible, that is their job. More information? Contractors, have you seen your Iceberg yet? Icebergs are everywhere and we all know it isn't what we see on the surface that will kill us..... it is what lurks below! Have you seen your Iceberg yet? Maybe a Superintendent complains that your QC is holding up the schedule? Maybe a PE is complaining that your QC's desk is hidden under a pile of paper and they can't find any files because the Qc is hoarding them? Maybe it is a project whose pay app is being delayed because the site As-Builts are not up to date? Maybe it is Subcontractors screaming about the amount of paperwork being asked of them? Maybe it is the loss of scheduled time on the back end of a project that has gone seamlessly until closeout? Maybe a client makes a less-than-outstanding comment on an interim review of your QC program? Maybe you're seeing a lot of re-work on a project? Maybe you're seeing a large number of warranty calls? These are all seemingly small surface things that can be tackled one by one and addressed but they are all THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG. They indicate a problem with your QC Department/System. A problem that will continue to grow until it is fixed or it sinks your ship like the Titanic. No, we are not being dramatic, we have seen companies small and big go under because they did not have a strong QC Department. He will not speak on His own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come." This powerful passage reminds us of the incredible gift we have in the Holy Spirit. Here are a few reflections on what we can learn: 1. Guidance in Truth: The Holy Spirit is our divine guide, leading us into all truth. In a world filled with confusion and misinformation, we can rely on the Spirit to illuminate our path and reveal the truth. 2. Divine Communication: The Spirit speaks not on His own authority but conveys the messages He receives from the Father and the Son. This highlights the unity and harmony within the Trinity and assures us that the guidance we receive is in perfect alignment with God's will. 3. Prophetic Insight: The Spirit also reveals what is to come, offering us wisdom and foresight. This doesn't mean predicting the future like a fortune-teller but providing us with the spiritual insight to understand God's unfolding plan in our lives and in the world.
