PBOC:Report on Aggregate Financing to the Real Economy (Stock) (April 2024) According to preliminary statistics, outstanding aggregate financing to the real economy (AFRE) reached RMB389.93 trillion at end-April 2024, increasing 8.3 percent year on year. Specifically, outstanding RMB loans to the real economy posted RMB244.92 trillion, increasing 9.1 percent year on year; outstanding foreign currency-denominated loans to the real economy (RMB equivalent) recorded RMB1.78 trillion, decreasing 4.2 percent year on year; Outstanding entrusted loans registered RMB11.18 trillion, decreasing 1.3 percent year on year; outstanding trust loans registered RMB4.12 trillion, increasing 9.7 percent year on year; Outstanding undiscounted bankers' acceptances recorded RMB2.59 trillion, declining 13.8 percent year on year; Outstanding corporate bonds registered RMB31.78 trillion, increasing 0.9 percent year on year; outstanding government bonds reached RMB71.06 trillion, increasing 13.7 percent year on year; and outstanding domestic equity of non-financial firms amounted to RMB11.53 trillion, increasing 5.2 percent year on year. #realeconomy #AFRE #PBOC #NAFMII #corporatebond #NFRA

Hardman & Co publication on NB Private Equity Partners (NBPE): Wider operating company EBITDA margins in 2023. We reviewed NBPE’s business model in our initiation, Co-investments generating superior performance. We noted the high-secular-growth and downside-resilient investee companies, the value added by GPs, the good co-investing cashflow and return profile and the value added by the NB. The 2023 results confirmed all these trends. The key numbers were i) NAV p/sh $28.07 (£22.02), ii) private portfolio +5.3% in 2023 on a constant currency basis, iii) EV/LTM EBITDA 14.9x, and iv) debt/EBITDA 5.3x. The portfolio company weighted average LTM growth in revenue and EBITDA was 11.4% and 15.2%, respectively, with margins widening despite market challenges. The month began with risk-off sentiment due to weaker-than-expected employment data, concerns of slowing growth, and the unraveling of yen carry trades that triggered a global selloff in equities and Treasury yields to plummet. The yen carry trades consisted of borrowing Japan’s cheap currency to invest in other countries offering higher yields. 💸  Rimmer Bros, a Lincoln-based restorer and supplier of replacement automotive parts, has secured investment from US private equity firm Radial Equity Partners in a deal that enables the company’s founders to retire. 👉 The company was founded in 1982 by Bill and Graham Rimmer (pictured below), who decided to bring the firm to market in order to retire.
