Sometimes we need to reflect what the Apollo program offered everyone now in aerospace besides the technology spinoffs and a surplus of cash in the industry for those challenging years. For example, it organized the existing military communications systems at various ranges and established a world-wide spacecraft tracking network infrastructure that we continue to enjoy to this day. Many aerospace companies were involved to create the best-in-class ground network and communications to relay both data and voice on which it was a lot easier to build upon and continue to upgrade to the systems currently in use both for Near Earth and Deep Space communications. Today, we have fostered a government-private sector relationship that has made every single dollar within NASA's annual budget impact more than before. We keep learning new things about a relatively re-iterative new design. The good thing is that we are open to learning what exactly happened and addressing it in updated designs or fixes. The faster the better for an optimized design. There is an upcoming Oct 7th launch that is time sensitive which pushes SpaceX to determine root cause asap.

A declassified report originating from the Department of Homeland Security, now made public by the Department of Defence's All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office, details the proposal for a program for the study of Advanced Aerospace Threats (AATs) and Advanced Aerospace Vehicles (AAVs) as well as correspondances regarding said proposal. This program, AARO claims, was discovered by the office from interviews conducted as part of their investigation procedures. On the offical .mil website, AARO includes the following paragraph: "The All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO) first learned of the KONA BLUE program from interviews conducted as part of its historical review. Multiple interviewees identified KONA BLUE as a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sensitive compartment established to protect the retrieval and exploitation of "non-human biologics." AARO researched the information provided by the interviewees and learned KONA BLUE was a Prospective Special Access Program (PSAP) that had been proposed to DHS leadership but was never approved or formally established. KONA BLUE never received any materials or funding, and there is no information beyond the proposal presentation marked with the KONA BLUE name." Very exciting times for this subject!
