Improving outcomes hinges on aligning the right patients, providers, and timing. For groups managing complex chronic care alongside routine needs, prioritizing a "fast pass" for high-need patients ensures they see their familiar doctor rather than an unfamiliar one in urgent care or the ED. A vital aspect is programming the system to reserve appointments for urgent visits, automatically releasing them at scheduled intervals, preventing loss of valuable appointment slots. Running a medical office mirrors airline operations — an empty seat on takeoff is lost revenue, just as an unused appointment cannot be reclaimed once its time passes. Efficient scheduling is paramount for optimal healthcare delivery.
