What an great post from Adriana Santoro of the amazing Hatched Media companies need to recognise and support introverts in the workplace by tailoring development plans and communication methods. Doing so will enhance productivity and staff retention. Adriana provides us with some hot tips on how to help introverts gel into your teams: 1. Get to know your staff – not only from a work point of view but from a personal point of view... Have one-on-one meetings and send 'get to know you' surveys or personality tests to better understand your team members 2. Make sure individual development plans and goals are truly tailored, not just copy-and-paste... Consider their discomfort; there's a difference between gently pushing growth and overwhelming, so incremental steps are fine if a goal seems daunting 3. Give people options... For example, when introducing someone on their first day, ask how they prefer to be introduced: a public introduction, an all-staff email, or meeting people gradually at their own pace. 4. Ask questions... To gather diverse opinions, use different methods, incorporate121 or team sessions alongside whole meetings to ensure introverted perspectives are included, as they often prefer smaller team settings. 5. Think about the people you’re assigning to a client... Consider client preference, emphasize relationships, interactions, or quality work. Tailor teams to their needs, not predefined roles, fostering respect and comfort. Merit should guide employee progression, promoting fairness. To introverts excelling behind the scenes, 'quiet achievers' or 'underdogs' thrive in your unique style; a supportive company values your strengths 👏

Can you, or should you engage in PR if you don't have regular news to put out? We speak to quite a few companies who quite understandably* think there isn't much point in doing PR if they don't have 'hard news'. They're often talking about funding, or the lack of recent news on that front. Or they might have great partnerships they want to shout about but these are under NDA or aren’t able to be publicly shared for other reasons. Yes, the tech and business media can seem fixated on covering funding and other markers of growth and success like big deals or impressive awards. Yet lots of our clients get regular PR coverage - sometimes 8 or 10 pieces per month, without ‘new news’. They might have instead: 🗞 A company growth, or ‘pivot story’ 🗞 A founder ‘hero story’ 🗞 Industry insight, from their sales team perhaps 🗞 Proprietary data which points to a trend 🗞 A new product, or a move into a new area which points to a trend 🗞 Staff stories - apprenticeships or longstanding members 🗞 Opinion - a new take, a strong view, an honest admission… *they should come to us for a strategy session where our team of PRs and ex journalists can take 2 hours to brainstorm and unearth stories & angles ⭐ #PR #news #marketing #techpr

Outside of the usual work you deliver for your clients, I love recommending 'surprise and delight' moments that go over and above, set you apart, and will be the reason you retain clients long term. This is something I've committed to doing over the past 15 years in PR and 5 years in business as a coach and consultant, and it's always served both myself and my clients exceptionally well. After all, many people can provide a professional service. But when you surprise and delight your clients - not every day, just every so often - it will truly set you apart and have your clients raving about you and wanting to work with you long term. Not many people deliver what they say they're going to, let alone go over and above for their clients. 3 things that everybody who works with us for PR experiences are… 🔥 They earn their way into exciting media including TV, radio, magazines, podcasts and press 🔥 They easily get a reach way beyond what they could manage on the socials 🔥 The level of certainty and self belief they have in themselves massively increase as they continue to refine their messaging and reach new levels of visibility Sally (name changed) paid thousands for a feature in a top publication after being told she’d be inundated with leads. She wasn’t. And was understandably dubious about ‘trying PR again’. I explained that pay to play is more like advertising than PR. Sure, it has its place but it’s different. The beauty of PR is in the credibility it carries when you are being called up time and time again as the go-to expert by trusted brands and high profile people. Plus, no one feature, doesn’t matter how great it is can tell your full story and show the full picture of who you are and what you do. PR requires consistency. We spoke about how PR isn’t the lead gen and sales tool but an amplifier for her existing systems to make them more effective. That it’s a gradual increase as she builds her profile and reach. Not the explosive effect she was expecting before and that it’s not to be tracked in the same way as her marketing. She took the leap! In her first week she booked Woman & Home, Women’s Health and Yahoo. By month 5 she was booking national TV and radio. She was regularly on podcasts sharing her message and calling her people back to her space where her marketing took over. By the end of her 1st year she had booked 152 media placements in a broad range of publications from around the globe. I remember her saying to me a few months in that, she wasn’t sure why, but she was finding it easy to make sales. That more people were booking calls with her who were ready to buy. Before she started, she had told me that people loved what she did and told her how amazing she was and that they’re ‘definitely’ going to invest into working with her but they weren’t actually committing. This had gradually flipped and she raised her prices significantly too! This is a good example of what happens as a result of your Google filling up with social proof and the ongoing reach and credibility you get through PR. 🔥 You break through the trust barrier and cut through the noise and so people can find you easier and are more confident in saying YES to working with you. And speaking of confidence, she also shared that she was surprised by how much she had transformed throughout the process. She said she was more confident and certain of herself than ever before 👑 This is inevitable when you keep rising in visibility with the right support in place!
