At Flying Lab, we operated with a flat management structure and worked on very aggressive projects, both of which put tremendous demands on our Producers, above and beyond the usual. Cindy is simply one of the best Producers I’ve ever worked with, and proved herself beyond a shadow of a doubt with us. She is very detail-oriented, extremely hard working, and leads from the front. She is also very good with people, both ensuring our employees deliver great work on time and on budget, and in interfacing with our external clients, who required detailed communication, continual patience, and diplomacy. I believe video games are one of the main forms of modern art - a perfect blend of art and technological evolution. That’s why I’ve been closely following Unreal Engine and Epic Games announcements and updates for years, and have enormous respect for everyone working on Unreal Engine, continually pushing the boundaries of gaming and entertainment. With the help of Unreal Engine, I believe soon every new video game will look visually stunning, and graphics will no longer play the major factor when comparing games. When every video game reaches that level of visual excellence, the focus will shift entirely to gameplay mechanics and storytelling, leading to even better and more immersive games. Video gaming will enter a new era! Where will content creators fit in this new era? I believe creators main role is not only to entertain their viewers and communities, but also to discover and celebrate the best games and game creators, educate their audiences, and help making the next wave of new games better! The general public recognises many famous movie actors and directors and gives them their deserved flowers. I’d love to see the same happen with gaming. Unfortunately, today the creators of Grand Theft Auto, The Last of Us, Elden Ring, Ghost of Tsushima, and many other amazing games aren’t widely known to the general public. We need to change this imo and I believe creators can play a big role in making this happen! P.S. My wife and I watch Unreal Engine announcements with childlike excitement, amazed at how far gaming has come since we played our first video games in the early ’90s! This is where most UGC platforms will head to. “No code” Is going to raise the baseline. Will it kill programming? no… but On top of AI assisted creation, there will be new challenges to be tackled by expert users. Things in which professional game developers will have an advantage. probably something like high level programming architecture , novel systems design and maybe even something closer to applied philosophy. But for certain, understanding coding logic will remain as useful as being able to read, even if it’s just to understand why it works.
