You're struggling to make progress in your mentoring career. What can you do to build resilience?
Early in my career I used to take failures pretty hard - and then I got some great advice which taught me to learn what I can control, and what I can't, and it made a world of difference and reduced unnecessary stress. As a mentor, I've learned there are times to help navigate, and there are times when the only teacher is going to be the experience of the failure. That using these teachable moments - can build the muscle of anticipating pitfalls and being proactive rather than reactive. Action breeds confidence & allowing for someone to pull from and build onto their own experiences is the best teacher. When you are passionate it can be hard, to be the one learning, and the one watching -knowing when to step in, and when to stay out is key.

What are the essential ATS features for successful recruiting?
I've learned to always ask "Who built it" - an ATS built by Recruiters rather than solely IT based (they do exist) is far more likely to be successful. Understanding the need for Boolean search within applicants, merging profiles and notes for duplicates, tracking all forms of communication - not just those through the system these are things that save time and time counts in recruitment. Job setup and posting not only for appeal but to work well with algorithms for disbursement, interact with boards and social media. Compliance features for items like EEO and GDPR notification and reporting is also ideal. On the business side - reporting capabilities to provide analytics so that companies can best identify if changes need to be made.
