Our #Annual #Impact #report for year 2023 is out! This document highlights #Amref Kenya's #incredible #achievements and the #impact created in advancing #primary #healthcare in Kenya. Enjoy the read! Key highlights of our achievements: 1. Established 69 #Primary #Care #Networks (PCNs) 2. Supported the Ministry of Health (MOH), Division of Digital Health in #deploying the first ever #PCN #Observatory 3. Supported the roll out of the #Electronic #Health #Information(eCHIS) for CHPs in 18 Counties 4. In facilities we support, #fewer #newborn #deaths were reported with a drop from 10.3 to 9.5 out of every 1,000 births 5. Through our #Community #Case #Management #Model, we managed to reduce #malaria cases in endemic zones which #dropped from 24.8 to 18.8 per 1,000 people over the year. 6. To address the NCD burden, we continue to #promote #early #detection of cases by #equipping #community #health #promoters (CHPs) with proper tools and skills set to #screen and #refer patients 7. We continue to work towards #elimination of #neglected #tropical #diseases

Today we reviewed Social Determinants of Health for Gender Equality Program in Developing Regional States (DRs) of Ethiopia a four years project supported by European Union that has been implemented in 16 selected woredas of DRS aiming to address geographical and gender inequities through innovative multisectoral approach with the overall objective to support the Government of Ethiopia to improve health and nutrition of Ethiopian citizens with specific emphasis on improving health and nutrition of women and adolescent girls and children under five years of age: o Improved access and quality of SRHR with emphasis on increased demand for and uptake of comprehensive FP services. o Improved access to and quality of integrated nutrition services and dietary diversity for adolescent girls, PLW and children under 5 years of age. o Improved functionality and readiness of health facilities to provide quality services. o Prevention of SGBV and HTPs, promotion for change of social norms and mind-sets, attitudes and beliefs, and improved access to and use of support services for SGBV victims/survivors. o Increased capacity and ownership of sector bureaus to manage the grant project and implement M&E and communication and visibility activities. We discussed on what worked well, areas for improvement and recommendations for future programming with representative from European Union Delegation Ethiopia, Agri Consulting Europe representative, MoH strategic affairs executive office and Key Experts supporting technically. Midterm review findings and programmatic evaluation revealed that the project has brought promising results interms of achieving expected results, a showcase for operationalizing Social Determinants of Health concepts into practices and improving horizontal and vertical alignment at multilevel. • We thank European Union for the funding, Technical Assistant and Key experts for their commitments and contribution from project design to implementation over the last four years. The USAID Frontier Health Markets (FHM) Engage program partnered with Samhita’s Collective Good Foundation (Samhita-CGF) to launch the Women’s Health and Livelihood Alliance (WOHLA) – a multi-stakeholder initiative focused on #WomenEmpowerment by addressing the intersection of health and economic wellbeing. WOHLA serves as a #HealthMarketplace to increase access to #FamilyPlanning and sexual health information, services, and products, while also enhancing financial and digital literacy to promote workforce participation.
