Michael Weisz has a real knack for finding unconventional opportunities and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. He cut his teeth in real estate, but quickly found his nuanced understanding of mis-priced risk prepared him for creative investments like litigation and receivable finance and strategies like loans to professional athletes during lockouts. We talk about the development of the Yieldstreet platform, how they think about the wide variety of offerings they have from fine art to CLO’s, the democratization of finance, and the international scaling of the firm. Michael is the Founder and CEO of Yieldstreet, the leading private market investing platform, with more than 500k members and $5.7 billion invested. Congratulations to the team Athena Art Finance Corp., Rebecca L. Fine, Laura Dameme, Giovanna Quattrone, and Sarah R., for 45% growth in 2024 (and Q4 hasn’t even started)! On Friday, the team closed their largest loan to date, involving a great deal of complexity, rigorous underwriting and sophisticated credit structuring. I continue to be impressed by the strength of the team and also the demand for art lending. Athena has extended more than $800 million in art-backed loans and continues to be a leading non-bank art lender worldwide. We couldn’t be more proud of this all female team and the business they continue to build. Yieldstreet has just opened our Diversified Art Debt III offering, the 8th of its kind, enabling accredited investors to target passive quarterly income while being secured by a large portfolio of fine art. Head over to Yieldstreet to learn more about investing in fine art. This investment won’t be available for long, so go check it out now.

We’re all cheering on two Yieldstreet team members, Dan Costanza and Justin DeLuca, who are embarking on a 500-mile journey over 5 days, starting from Yieldstreet HQ in NYC and finishing at the tip of Cape Cod in Provincetown. They're participating in the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) to support cancer research and patient care at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. To date, the PMC has raised $1 billion for Dana-Farber, with 100% of rider donations going directly to the institute. Go Dan and Justin!
