We’re looking to the future to teach and inspire the next generation of physicians! That’s why we’re #WellSpanProud to announce our new collaboration with the Temple University - Lewis Katz School of Medicine to establish a medical school campus in York County. Together, we will advance medical education and improve health outcomes for communities across the region. “The high-quality care WellSpan is known for across the Mid-Atlantic will only be enhanced by welcoming these medical students who will soon train and hone their skills among our own expert physicians and team members,” said Dr. Anthony Aquilina, executive vice president and chief physician executive, WellSpan Health. “Temple University has a strong national reputation for its educational programs, and we’re excited to work with such a prestigious institution knowing how it will benefit our patients.” #MedicalEducation #TempleMade

In a case seen around the world, WellSpan interventional cardiologists Dr. Brian Schuler, Dr. Samvit Tandan, and Dr. Stewart Benton, recently performed the world's first live left atrial appendage occlusion procedure using 4DCT technology. The implant used in the procedure reduces the risk of blood clots and strokes for people with atrial fibrillation (or AFib) while the 4DCT provides immediate feedback and assists with precision when placing the device in the heart. WellSpan York Hospital is the only hospital in Pennsylvania with this technology right in the catheterization lab. Congratulations to the team on this accomplishment!
