Marketing program students and Collegiate DECA members are invited to an “out-of-the-classroom” experience annually. Students have dinner, network with their peers, and talk with recent graduates about their experiences. This year the dinner was held at WhirlyBall in Brookfield. Thank you to Sarah Duff, John Sardo, and Bennett Plumb for sharing your insights with students and Ann Mack for recruiting students and co-planning the event. We have another exceptional group of students. We look forward to the upcoming student awards, graduation, DECA conferences, and the big Marketing Program Spring Dinner! We will provide updates on the spring dinner soon. Pro tip: WhirlyBall is a great location to get people together for a corporate event. The location is impressive and keeps everyone engaged between WhirlyBall, Laser Tag, Bowling, and other activities. Their customer service was fabulous!

Jon Koch, Ann Mack, and Ed W. from the WCTC School of Business hosted a Harley-Davidson Museum and Milwaukee Public Market tour for special guests, marketing program students, and Collegiate DECA members. Markku Schmitt and students participating in an exchange program from Germany along with visiting professors Arja Aalto from Finland and Bas van Oorschot from the Netherlands joined us for the day and experienced all things Milwaukee. A special thank you to the host families who continue to make this experience special for the participants. An extra special thank you to Tricia Mertins for coordinating the activities and field trips over the two weeks. Since 1976, WCTC has partnered with Hans-Böckler Schule (HBS), a technical college in Frankfurt Germany. Every October, a group from HBS spends two weeks at WCTC attending classes, visiting businesses, and community partners, while also participating in local sightseeing and normal life in America with their host families. A group from WCTC spends the last two weeks of May in Frankfurt experiencing life in Germany.

Monday, October 7th was one for the books! 👩🍳 This year marked the second annual Chef Spotlight Series fundraising event, and partnering with The Bartolotta Restaurants proved to be an excellent decision. From meticulous planning to flawless execution and overwhelming generosity, this partnership set a high bar for future events. The highlight of the event was witnessing our students work alongside these talented chefs, many of whom are proud graduates of Waukesha County Technical College. This hands-on experience provided our students with invaluable insights and skills, bridging the gap between classroom learning and real-world application.
