Michael lll, Technical High School in Washington County Public Schools, where they connected with students and teachers in the BioMed and TAM programs. We are so proud of our students! When the state superintendent recently visited Boyd J. Michael lll, Technical High School, students in the Teaching Academy of Maryland and the Academy of Biomedical Sciences gave incredible presentations that demonstrated their passion for their program and their incredible knowledge about their studies! 🏆 Finally, Dr. Stacy Henson, principal at Emma K. Doub Elementary, rounds out this outstanding group of Gold Compass Award winners! Dr. Henson is recognized for demonstrating the values of engagement, community, and belonging. She builds a positive community by encouraging interaction among students, staff, and families in a way that develops trust and strong relationships. Congratulations!

🏆 Our next Gold Compass Award recipient is Dottie Gruhler, a Registered Behavior Technician at Pangborn Elementary School! She goes above and beyond to help students and teaching staff develop a growth mindset and seek new ways to problem solve. She is also recognized for demonstrating the values of belonging and well-being.

It’s an honor to recognize Sonia Vanegas with a Gold Compass Award! 🏆 She supports students and families from across WCPS at the International Welcome Center. She embodies the core values of engagement, well-being, and community. We are so grateful for her work, and the fact that she makes everyone feel welcome and connected with WCPS and their school!

No, that’s not Ruth Bader Ginsburg, that’s our next Gold Compass Award winner, Ashley Vascik from Boonsboro High School! 🏆 This government teacher has led her students to NINE straight Maryland State We the People Championship titles, and she holds her classes to high standards every day. Thank you for demonstrating our academic excellence core value!
