I was pleased to be able to speak at the U.S. News and World Report's State of Equity event and make the case that if we want to have strong, stable and broad-based economic growth, we have to address inequality issues. Washington Center for Equitable Growth
Our State of Equity event in Washington, D.C. is underway at the historic Mayflower Hotel, kicking off with opening remarks from our CEO Eric Gertler, and transitioning into sessions on "Examining Equity in America," moderated by our Senior National Correspondent and Anchor of Decision Points Olivier Knox, and a fireside chat with Federal Communications Commission Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel with our Editorial Director and EVP Dafna Linzer. #USNEquity

The Washington Center for Equitable Growth has received a grant from Melinda French Gates to advance women’s power, gender equality, and the care economy in the United States. Research shows gender inequality has direct harms on the U.S. economy. This funding will supercharge our work to promote strong, stable, and broadly shared economic growth. https://lnkd.in/exmbM26g

Equitable Growth is excited to launch a new Request for Proposals for research on the effectiveness of the fiscal response to the COVID-19 recession in generating better, more equitable outcomes for workers and the macroeconomy. We’re primarily interested in proposals examining policy interventions from March 2020 to March 2021, such as the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act. The research should aim to provide policymakers with actionable insights to inform effective policies to address future recessions. Learn more about eligibility, our evaluation criteria, and how to apply by 5/20 to join us as an #EGgrantee. ⬇
