✨Yesterday we had the opportunity to see first-hand how the Renton Schools Foundation teacher grants help support the learning of children in our community.🍎 The incredible high schoolers in the STEM club spent all year planning and creating a catapult, capable of launching a 10 pound “cannon” over 100 feet. It was inspiring to watch these students work cohesively to create something spectacular. What a way to end the school year! 😁 Walker’s Renton Subaru is such a proud sponsor of Renton Schools Foundation, and the commitment they have for each and every student in Renton. Yesterday Walker's Renton Subaru donated nearly $73,000 to benefit students and teachers in the Renton School District. This donation was made possible thanks to hundreds of our amazing customers who each donated $250 to Renton Schools Foundation as part of Subaru of America, Inc. Share the Love event. “We’re so grateful to our community partners, like Dale Walker, owner of Walker’s Renton Subaru, and their commitment to improving the education and livelihood of our students, families, and staff,” said Renton Schools Superintendent Dr. Damien Pattenaude. “Along with our partnership with Renton Schools Foundation, we continue to make great strides in providing each of our students with a high-quality education.” Renton Schools Foundation will use the money to continue funding programs that benefit students in every school in the district including teacher grants for classroom instruction; Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) programs; music, arts, literacy programs; summer STEM Camps, and more. This is the 11th year that Walker’s Renton Subaru customers have selected to donate to Renton Schools Foundation. Those contributions coupled with personal donations by owner Dale Walker total more than $980,000 in support to Renton Schools students and families.
