  • 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐝 𝐚 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨 𝐀𝐫𝐞𝐚 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭   Site Selection Magazine has named Valdosta-Lowndes County a Tier-3 𝐓𝐨𝐩 𝟏𝟎 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨 area based on the number of significant economic development projects. Tier 3 represents communities with populations of less than 200,000.   In 2023, the Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority worked on projects that added 460 jobs and injected $390 million in capital investments into the local and regional economy, including Walmart's announcement to build a dairy processing facility.    Valdosta also welcomed Prinsco, a national company that manufactures corrugated high-density polyethylene and polypropylene pipes. The 74,000-square-foot facility will be completed later this year, and the company expects to create 40 jobs.   Along with recruiting businesses, the Development Authority worked with existing industries on facility expansion, installation of advanced machinery, and solutions to increase storage and production capacity.  #BuildLowndes #economicdevelopment
