During her 13 years with the VLCDA, Schruijer has been a driving force behind the economic growth of Valdosta and Lowndes County, yielding approximately 𝟑,𝟓𝟎𝟎 𝐣𝐨𝐛𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 $𝟏.𝟑 𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬, including GAF, Walmart dairy processing facility, Bimbo QSR, Arglass, Prinsco, P&B Cold Storage, and Utility Plastics, and existing businesses expansions to upgrade operations, machinery, and increased production capacity to meet rising demand. Today was supposed to be a celebration with our team for our Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting for GAF Valdosta. Due to Hurricane Helene’s impacts on our community, it did not seem like the time to celebrate so the event was postponed. We decided that we wanted to give back and turn it into a Community Day where we volunteered to help at Second Harvest of South Georgia. We packed many boxes and bags alongside team members from Second Harvest and the Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority. I couldn’t be more proud of our team and how much we accomplished today! #gafemployee
