Effective immediately from June 24, 2024, the Department of Agriculture and Food of Utah has announced that slippers containing filling material in the top portion are exempt from listing the filling material in the bottom portion. This notice is intended to streamline the compliance process and reduce the labeling burden on manufacturers, while still ensuring transparency and consumer safety. Previously, regulations required that any filling material used in both the top and bottom portions of slippers be explicitly listed on the textile label. All other labeling requirements remain unchanged. Manufacturers must ensure that the filling material in the top portion is accurately listed on the textile label.
