💡🍀 More sense than luck - we highly recommend our customers a preliminary sounding with our geo-radar for their lysimeter sampling. It's worth it! 🛠 In preparation for the installation of two of our patented lightweight PE-HD triple lysimeter stations, we used an Dual-Frequency Ground Penetrating Radar to probe the extraction site for the monoliths and the installation site for the lysimeter stations - and it was very successfully! 🌱 With the radar stones, pipes, shafts and other objects can be found perfectly at a depth of up to eight metres - allowing the optimum location for a lysimeter test. #lysimeter #georadar #soilscience #soil

🌵💧🌾💚 Today is #DesertificationAndDroughtDay "Man-made deserts" are a very serious problem! We take away our own living space - and the opportunity to gain something from this land. More on the "Why?" and the "What to do?" ⬇ Let's use the #UN "World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought" to bring this important issue further into people's focus. But why are deserts actually spreading? Because of: ❌ the overuse of soils, as they are given too little time to regenerate ❌ overgrazing, as the protective plant layer is lost due to large herds of cattle ❌ and deforestation, which prevents the soil from storing rain during heavy rainfall All three points result in the upper, fertile layer of the soil being removed and it gradually dries out and can no longer be cultivated. Now you are probably wondering what can be done to prevent the spread of deserts. Important measures are: ✔ sustainable agriculture that gives the soil enough time to regenerate ✔ sustainable water management, for example collecting and storing rainfall ✔ or the use of drought-resistant plants And by the way: we have the right equipment to measure the health of the soil and plants - i.e. our RTG Lysimeter (picture) was used for an approach to sustainable land management under arid conditions 😎 #UNited4Land #soil #soilscience #desertification #climate #sustainability #lysimeter #ecotron #soilmoisture
