We are Texas lawyers and advocates for Texas communities, fighting for y’all in and out of the courts since 1990.
About us
We are Texas lawyers and advocates for Texas communities, boldly serving the movement for equality and justice in and out of the courts. We envision a Texas where all communities thrive with dignity and justice, and without fear. TCRP believes that legal advocacy and litigation are critical tools to protect and advance the civil rights of everyone in Texas, particularly our State’s most vulnerable populations, and to effect positive and lasting change to law and policy. We believe that by serving the rising social justice movement in Texas with excellent legal representation and bold strategies, we can respond to the needs of the communities we serve.

Every Texan has the right to understand their ballot before they cast their vote! That is why we are joining with Asian Texans for Justice to talk about the importance of Language Accessibility when it comes to elections. Join us on August 13th for our final session of our four-part Election Protection Summer CLE Series presentations. These sessions are targeted towards attorneys who would like to learn how they can help protect the vote while getting CLE Credit. https://lnkd.in/eC4W-eea

TCRP envisions a future where we prioritize care and support for our children over incarceration, where they are subject to violence, harm, and violations of their constitutional rights. Last week, the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division demonstrated this by releasing a report finding multiple unconstitutional conditions at five Texas juvenile justice facilities. Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/g8X_BKzE TCRP stresses the urgency of finding alternatives to locking children up and subjecting them to violence and terror. The report highlights thousands of cases of abuse that have for far too long gone unnoticed by everyone except those close enough to the children to know. By prioritizing care for children and their families, we can create just and compassionate systems of support for our youth that will not perpetuate cycles of trauma.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Eduardo “Eddie” Canales, a true Texas Civil Rights leader and humanitarian. As the founder of the South Texas Human Rights Center, Eddie dedicated his life to saving the lives of migrants searching for a better life along the border, and worked alongside TCRP to ensure that the rights and dignity of these individuals were upheld. His life is a reminder to all of us that every person can make an impact on others' lives’. He will be remembered for his power, courage, compassion, and his drive to relentless pursuit a more just world. Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and all who were touched by his incredible legacy. Rest in Power, Eduardo “Eddie” Canales.
