Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting a group of talented high school interns from KRSM, the FM radio station broadcasting from the Phillips community in South Minneapolis. These students are gaining valuable experience through behind-the-scenes work and involvement in shows that feature six different languages and 10 hours of Indigenous programming each week. 📻💬 The students' enthusiasm and commitment to learning about media production was truly inspiring. Internships like these are essential for career development, offering hands-on experience and fostering important, life-long industry connections. Starting early with internships can make a significant difference in shaping a successful career path. We're proud to support and encourage these future media professionals! 💙 . . #careerdevelopment #youthinmedia #internships #futureleaders #mediacareers

We had an incredible time at the Minneapolis Institute of Art for a special screening of the film "Gordon Parks’ American Gothic: Liberating the Voices and Visions of a New Generation" produced by this year's HYPE team of aspiring high-school filmmakers. We were honored to have co-creator and Executive Producer Robin Hickman-Winfield - who is also Gordon Parks' grandniece - along with members of the HYPE team, join us for a talk following the viewing. Their insights added depth to the evening, celebrating both the legacy of Gordon Parks and the new generation of voices inspired by his work. Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unforgettable evening; your presence made this celebration truly special! Photo credit: Uche Iroegbu 📸
