Are you having trouble welding hard-to-join polymers like PBT, PPS, or TPE? TWI has taken on the challenge of laser welding these difficult-to-weld polymers through real-time temperature monitoring and precise thermal control. As part of our recent 'Poly-Smart' project, we developed a welding procedure specification that ensures successful welds for materials widely used in aerospace, medical, electronics, and automotive industries. Our exploratory project, led by Sullivan Smith, successfully produced welds in all three materials: polybutylene terephthalate (PBT), polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE). Want to know more about how this can work for your projects? [email protected] #Polymers #Welding #PolymersIndustry #WeldingEngineering #PolymersWelding
