We are thrilled to share the highlights from an incredible 2023-24 investment cycle:
🎉 Welcoming 3 new portfolio companies to our fund: Health In Her HUE, TurnSignl, and Alga Biosciences.
🤝 Recruiting 61 new team members from a record pool of 172 applicants across the Stanford University Graduate School of Business MBA and MSx programs. The Impact Fund remains to be one of the most diverse and in-demand student-run experiences at the GSB.
📊 Setting up a new portfolio performance evaluation system to help guide future investment decisions and enrich the investment management process.
📚 Designing and executing five training sessions including sourcing, due diligence, impact assessment, financial modeling, and investment committee preparation to better equip our deal teams with the skills needed to succeed.
💼 Sourcing over 600 deals across the investment deal teams and presenting 14 companies to the investment committee. Throughout the year-long investment process, students in each deal team connected with founders, evaluated startups, prepared investment memos and presented their top deals.
📈 Supporting 7 portfolio companies on an array of company-specific projects including financial projections, impact measurement, market positioning and technology assessment.
👥 Onboarding two new Investment Committee members. We’re delighted to welcome our new fantastic IC members and are grateful for their commitment: Hanno Lustig (Mizuho Financial Group Professor of Finance) and Ilya Strebulaev (David S. Lobel Professor of Private Equity and co-author of "The Venture Mindset").
